Marantz Cinema 50 Series 2 – What's New?

The Series 2 upgrade brings several worthwhile improvements to an already versatile AV receiver. A new 32-bit DAC helps deliver cleaner, more refined digital audio, while upgraded wireless connectivity makes it easier to connect Bluetooth and HEOS-compatible products. HDMI enhancements also bring support for AMD FreeSync and 1440p gaming signals, alongside the existing 8K and 4K/120Hz capabilities.

9-Channel Amplification for Flexible Systems

With nine powered channels, the Cinema 50 Series 2 can be configured in several different ways to suit your room. Build a 7.4.2 Dolby Atmos system with two height channels, or move to 5.4.4 with four ceiling or Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers.

The spare amplification can also be used for a second room or for bi-amping your main speakers. If your home cinema ambitions grow, the receiver provides 11-channel RCA pre-outs, allowing an additional stereo power amplifier to be added for even greater system flexibility.

Dirac Live & Audyssey MultEQ XT32

Room acoustics have a major effect on how a home cinema sounds, which is why the Cinema 50 Series 2 supports both Dirac Live and Audyssey MultEQ XT32.

Dirac Live analyses your room and speaker response using a compatible USB microphone and computer software, helping optimise the system for your listening position. Dirac Live requires a separate licence purchase and a compatible microphone.

For a simpler setup, Audyssey MultEQ XT32 provides automatic room measurement and calibration, with additional features including Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume, LFC and SubEQ HT. The optional MultEQ Editor App gives enthusiasts access to further adjustment options.
