Designed as part of Sony's ULT POWER SOUND range, this large-format Bluetooth party speaker combines a 280mm woofer, two dedicated mid-range speakers and four tweeters with a specially selected amplifier delivering up to 420W of power. Powerful Sound with Deep, Punchy Bass
The ULT TOWER 7 is built around a newly developed 280mm circular woofer, designed to produce powerful bass with high sound pressure. Sony's improved ULT Duct manages airflow to help deliver deeper bass with reduced distortion, while two 120mm mid-range drivers help keep vocals clear. Four tweeters – two front-facing and two rear-facing – provide high-frequency detail around the speaker.
360° Party Sound
With its combination of front and rear tweeters, dedicated mid-range drivers and large woofer, the ULT TOWER 7 is designed to spread sound around the room. 360° Party Sound helps deliver music to listeners in different positions rather than concentrating the sound in one direction.
Choose Your Sound with ULT Modes
The ULT TOWER 7 gives you several ways to tailor its sound. Select ULT1 for deep bass, ULT2 for powerful, punchy bass or FLAT for a more neutral sound. LIVE mode provides a more dynamic, concert-like listening experience and can be selected or assigned to the ULT button using the Sony | Sound Connect app.
The app also provides a 10-band custom equaliser, allowing you to adjust the sound to suit your music and listening preferences.
Automatic Sound Field Optimisation
Sound Field Optimisation automatically adjusts the speaker's audio performance according to its surroundings. Whether you're using the ULT TOWER 7 indoors or outdoors, Sony has designed the system to help maintain a balanced listening experience in different environments.
Party Lighting
The ULT TOWER 7 features integrated lighting designed to add atmosphere to your party. Choose from three preset lighting modes, with additional lighting customisation available through the Sony | Sound Connect app.
DJ and Karaoke Connectivity
The ULT TOWER 7 is equipped for more than Bluetooth music playback. An RCA input makes it easy to connect DJ equipment, while an XLR input and output provide additional flexibility for more advanced setups and connecting additional speakers.
For karaoke and live entertainment, there is a dedicated 6.3mm microphone input.
USB Audio and Music Playback
The speaker provides USB Type-C and USB Type-A connectivity. USB Type-C supports USB Audio from a compatible smartphone or PC, while USB Type-A can be used to play music from a USB drive.
The USB power port can also be used to charge a smartphone, helping you keep your mobile device powered during longer sessions.
Bluetooth Multipoint Connection
The ULT TOWER 7 supports Bluetooth 5.3 and can be connected to two Bluetooth devices at the same time. This allows playback to be switched between paired devices for added convenience. Supported Bluetooth codecs include SBC, AAC and LDAC.
Party Chain with Up to 100 Compatible Speakers
For larger events, the ULT TOWER 7 supports Party Chain via Auracast, allowing compatible Sony speakers to be synchronised for music and lighting. Sony currently states that Party Chain can connect up to 100 compatible speakers, including the ULT TOWER 7, ULT TOWER 5 and ULT TOWER MAX.
The speaker also supports a Stereo Pair function for compatible speaker setups.
Up to 30 Hours of Battery Life
A full charge provides approximately 30 hours of battery life, giving you plenty of time to enjoy music without being tied to a power socket. Sony also specifies 180 minutes of playback from a 10-minute quick charge.
Actual battery performance can vary depending on factors including volume, music content, temperature and usage conditions.
For longer sessions, the STAMINA power option can adjust the speaker's settings to extend playback time. Sony notes that STAMINA disables the lighting function and ULT POWER SOUND effects.
Easy to Move Around
The ULT TOWER 7 is designed to be portable despite its substantial size. Four carry handles and rear wheels make it easier to move the speaker between rooms or take it to another location. The speaker weighs approximately 22.8kg and measures approximately 421 x 710 x 347mm (W x H x D).
IPX4 Water Resistance
