Pro-Ject Harley-Davidson Belt Driven Turntable Limited Special Edition
The Pro-Ject Harley-Davidson Turntable combines Pro-Ject’s expertise in precision analogue playback with the unmistakable design language of Harley-Davidson. Created as a tribute to the mechanical character of the open road, this special-edition turntable takes inspiration from the iconic Harley-Davidson Bar & Shield logo and turns it into a striking platform for high-end vinyl playback.
Behind its distinctive appearance is a serious piece of audio engineering. A heavy Alu-MDF sandwich chassis, precision-machined aluminium components, a substantial glass platter and a 915g record puck work together to provide excellent rigidity, damping and speed stability. The result is a controlled, detailed presentation that allows your records to sound as intended.
Limited Special Edition Harley-Davidson Design
The plinth is shaped around the unmistakable silhouette of the Harley-Davidson Bar & Shield logo. Rather than relying on lightweight construction, Pro-Ject machines the solid MDF plinth without hollow spaces, helping to suppress unwanted resonance and maintain a quiet operating platform.
Polished aluminium and stainless steel details add a mechanical feel, while the genuine leather record mat takes inspiration from the materials and finish associated with classic Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The result is a turntable that looks at home alongside both contemporary and classic hi-fi equipment.
Heavy Alu-MDF Sandwich Chassis
The main chassis uses an aluminium-MDF sandwich construction, combining rigidity with effective internal damping. This helps minimise the effects of unwanted vibration reaching the record and cartridge, providing a stable foundation for accurate analogue playback.
The substantial construction also contributes to the turntable’s impressive overall mass and mechanical stability.
Precision-Machined Drive System
The Harley-Davidson Turntable is designed around a high-mass drive system with a total moving mass of 2.75kg. Its aluminium motor pulley and diamond-cut aluminium sub-platter are manufactured to exceptionally tight tolerances using precision CNC machining.
The sub-platter adds both mass and damping, while its accurate machining helps maintain a consistent transfer of motor speed to the platter. This attention to mechanical precision is an important part of the turntable’s ability to maintain stable playback.
Heavy Zero-Resonance Glass Platter
A substantial glass main platter provides the mass and rigidity needed for accurate vinyl playback while helping to control unwanted resonance. Its transparent construction also gives you a clear view of the precision components beneath it.
The high-mass platter works with the precision drive system to provide stable rotation and help minimise the speed variations that can affect pitch and musical timing.
915g Harley-Davidson Record Puck
The specially designed 915g record puck adds significant mass to the record-platter interface. Once fitted, it helps hold the vinyl securely against the leather mat and platter, while also helping to damp resonances.
Finished specifically for the Harley-Davidson Special Edition, the puck adds another distinctive detail to an already highly individual turntable.
Stable AC Synchronous Motor
At the heart of the drive system is a robust, top-selected AC synchronous motor, manufactured in Europe for long-term reliability and consistent operation. Its design focuses on maintaining stable rotation while keeping motor vibration under control.
A dedicated DC/AC power generator supplies the motor with clean, stable power, helping to reduce the fluctuations that can contribute to unwanted wow and flutter. The result is dependable rotational accuracy across the life of the turntable.
Electronic 33 and 45 RPM Selection
Switching between 33 and 45 RPM is simple thanks to the electronic speed control. A rocker switch allows you to select the appropriate speed without manually moving a belt.
8.6-Inch S-Shape Aluminium Tonearm
The 8.6-inch S-shaped aluminium tonearm combines a substantial construction with carefully engineered bearing technology. It is hand-polished and designed for smooth, low-friction movement across the record.
An SME headshell provides a secure cartridge connection and gives you the flexibility to use other compatible cartridges in the future, including suitable high-end moving-coil designs.
The tonearm also features a TPE-damped counterweight, helping to control unwanted vibration within the arm assembly.
Adaptive Gravity-Based Anti-Skating
Pro-Ject has fitted the tonearm with a sophisticated gravity-based anti-skating system that adapts the effective anti-skating force as the cartridge moves across the record.
This helps maintain consistent groove tracking and allows the cartridge to follow the record accurately from the beginning to the end of each side.
Pick it PRO Moving-Magnet Cartridge
The turntable comes supplied with a Pick it PRO MM cartridge, manufactured in Denmark and pre-adjusted for convenient setup. Its lively presentation and broad dynamic range make it a natural match for the precision tonearm and high-mass platter system.
Having the cartridge pre-adjusted also makes it easier to get the turntable ready for listening without the complexity of installing and aligning a cartridge from scratch.
Damped, Height-Adjustable Aluminium Feet
Three substantial damped aluminium feet support the turntable and can be height adjusted to achieve a stable, level setup.
Their damping properties help reduce the transfer of unwanted vibration between the turntable and its supporting surface, lowering the risk of acoustic feedback during playback.
Premium Leather Record Mat
The supplied genuine leather mat provides a secure interface between your record and the platter. Its premium finish complements the Harley-Davidson-inspired design, while its material and construction help create a solid connection between the record and the heavy glass platter.
High-Quality Phono Connection
The turntable uses a 5P-DIN phono connection and includes a matching Connect it Phono E 5P/RCA cable.
This semi-symmetrical phono cable has been specifically designed for the low-level signals generated by turntable cartridges. Its copper conductors and low-capacitance construction are designed to preserve the detail contained within the phono signal as it travels to your amplifier or phono stage.
Made in Europe
The Pro-Ject Harley-Davidson Turntable is made in Europe by an experienced turntable manufacturer. Pro-Ject’s focus on precision manufacturing, carefully selected materials and serviceable mechanical components makes this a turntable designed for long-term use rather than short-lived appeal.
A High-End Turntable with Harley-Davidson Character
The Pro-Ject Harley-Davidson Limited Special Edition Turntable is more than a visual collaboration. Its solid chassis, precision-machined drive components, heavy glass platter, 915g record puck and sophisticated tonearm have all been selected to deliver stable, detailed and engaging vinyl playback.
For Harley-Davidson enthusiasts, vinyl collectors and hi-fi listeners looking for something genuinely distinctive, it brings together two very different forms of craftsmanship: the mechanical character of Harley-Davidson and Pro-Ject’s long-standing approach to precision analogue audio.
