Audio-Technica AT-VM95SP – VM95 Series 78rpm SP Cartridge
The Audio-Technica AT-VM95SP is engineered specifically for shellac 78rpm records, delivering superior playback accuracy with reduced surface noise. Designed as part of the VM95 Series, this cartridge offers specialist performance for collectors and archivists working with historic mono recordings.
Featuring a robust 3mil SP stylus tip and aluminium cantilever, it provides precise groove tracking while helping to reduce distortion and surface artefacts commonly found on older discs. When used with the “Mono ON” function of a stereo phono stage, or paired with a dedicated archiving preamp that can sum or isolate channels, the AT-VM95SP helps extract the cleanest possible audio from vintage mono grooves.
With a 2.7mV output and compatibility across all VM95 stylus assemblies, this cartridge also offers the long-term benefit of simple stylus replacement — you only replace the stylus, not the whole cartridge.
