Arcam R15 Radia Bookshelf Loudspeakers (Pair) – Black
Compact Design. Authentic Radia Performance.
The Arcam Radia R15 bookshelf loudspeakers are designed for music lovers who want refined, full-scale sound from a compact speaker. As the smallest model in the Radia loudspeaker range, the R15 is ideal for smaller rooms, apartments, and carefully curated hi-fi systems—delivering clarity, control and musical energy without dominating your space.
Engineered to partner perfectly with Radia stereo and home cinema amplifiers, the R15 brings Arcam’s precision tuning and elegant industrial design into a speaker that fits effortlessly into modern living environments.
Deep Ceramic Composite Tweeter with Acoustic Lens Waveguide
High-frequency detail is handled by a 25mm Deep Ceramic Composite (DCC) dome tweeter, developed to combine stiffness with excellent internal damping. This allows the tweeter to reproduce fine detail without sounding sharp or fatiguing, even during long listening sessions.
The tweeter is mounted within Arcam’s Acoustic Lens waveguide, a carefully shaped surround that controls how high frequencies disperse into the room. Rather than projecting sound in a narrow beam, the waveguide spreads treble evenly across a wider area. The result is a more natural, immersive soundstage that stays consistent whether you’re sitting centrally or listening from elsewhere in the room.
Micro Ceramic Composite Woofer for Natural Midrange and Punchy Bass
For midrange and bass duties, the R15 uses a 130mm (5.25-inch) driver built with a Micro Ceramic Composite (MCC) cone. This material offers the ideal balance between light weight and rigidity, allowing the driver to react quickly to musical changes while keeping unwanted resonances under control.
Vocals sound clear and lifelike, acoustic instruments retain their natural texture, and bass notes remain tight and rhythmic rather than bloated. Despite its compact size, the R15 delivers impressive low-frequency presence, making it equally capable with music, films and TV audio.
Optimised Driver Frames for Faster, Cleaner Bass
The R15 benefits from newly developed cast driver frames that are engineered to improve airflow around the woofer. By reducing air compression behind the cone, these frames allow the driver to move more freely and accurately.
This optimisation results in faster bass response, cleaner transients and better control at higher volumes. Percussion hits with convincing attack, bass lines feel agile and defined, and complex passages remain composed rather than congested.
Carefully Tuned 2-Way Crossover Network
Inside the cabinet, a precision-tuned 2-way crossover network ensures seamless integration between the tweeter and woofer. Built using high-quality components, the crossover is designed to preserve timing, tonal balance and detail across the frequency range.
This careful tuning allows the R15 to sound cohesive and open, avoiding the disjointed feel that can affect lesser bookshelf speakers. Music flows naturally, with instruments and voices positioned clearly within the soundstage.
Rigid, Acoustically Stable Cabinet Construction
The R15 cabinet is built with internal bracing to minimise vibration and resonance, ensuring that the drivers operate in a stable acoustic environment. This rigidity helps maintain clarity at higher volumes and prevents colouration from the enclosure itself.
Finished in a premium black walnut veneer, the cabinet combines acoustic integrity with timeless visual appeal. Subtle Radia design accents and hidden driver fixings give the speaker a clean, elegant appearance, whether used with or without the supplied magnetically attached grille.
Perfect for Stereo or Home Cinema Systems
While the R15 excels in two-channel music systems, it is also designed as part of the wider Radia speaker family. This allows you to expand your system over time, adding matching floorstanders, a centre speaker and subwoofer for a cohesive, high-performance home cinema setup.
For best results, the R15 pairs naturally with Radia integrated amplifiers, delivering a balanced and dynamic sound that reflects Arcam’s long-standing hi-fi heritage.
