Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for three-dimensional sound

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X use ceiling or up-firing speakers for three-dimensional and fully immersive sound. Whether it’s rain falling in a tropical jungle or the intense sound of overhead gunfire, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X put you in the centre of the action. DTS Neural:X offers an even more immersive sound, with a heightened sense of realism.

Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization for extra height, without the speakers*

For those without in-ceiling or upward firing speakers in their system, Dolby Atmos with Height Virtualization Technology simulates the Atmos experience with forward facing-drivers. Configure up to five speakers to replicate the effect of two in-ceiling speakers, or utilize all seven channels to simulate the powerful effect of four overhead speakers. *This function is available via firmware update.

HDR10+ signals not only dynamic of video content on a scene-byscene basis, it also provides, in a small amount of metadata, the scene characteristics between bright and dark so that important detail can remain. And supports end-to-end 8K/4K resolutions and higher refresh rate solutions with a single upgraded cable for seamless integration within the HDMI eco-system. 4K/120Hz enables ultrafast motion UHD images to be crisp and razor sharp; allowing sports, action movies, high-performance.

Supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+*

Using a 7/1 (in/out) HDMI interface, the RX-V6A supports your full system. It also supports a wide range of High Dynamic Range video formats. These include Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. Enhanced gaming and media features ensure an added level of smooth and seamless motion and transitions for gaming, movies and video. They include: Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) enables the ideal latency setting to automatically be set allowing for smooth, lagfree and uninterrupted viewing and interactivity. Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) reduces lag, stutter and frame tearing for more fluid and detailed gameplay.

Powerful precision

For precise, dynamic sound, the Yamaha RX-V6A uses a powerful, 100 watts, high slew rate amplifier. Ideal for HiRes music and home cinema, the amp powers your music or soundtracks with gusto – keeping you on the edge of your seat during action movies or gaming, and totally bewitched by your favourite music. This design of amplifier can be tricky to optimise, but Yamaha’s unique design achieves dynamic scale while also maintaining a stable signal transmission.

Surround sound, untied

For an easy way to reduce cabling, the RX-V6A offers the option of wireless rear speakers. Combine this receiver with the Yamaha MusicCast 20 or MusicCast 50 speakers and you can leave aside speaker cable connections. Perfect if you have a solid floor and struggle to hide speaker cable or if you simply want a cleaner style, wireless surround speakers cut down on the clutter.

Connect more – including a turntable

As well as seven HDMI inputs, this Yamaha AVR also has a wide range of other AV connectivity. Optical coaxial digital inputs are ideal for connecting older devices or upgrading the sound from a compatible CD/Network player. Three analogue inputs are perfect for Hi-Fi components, with the dedicated MM phono input perfect for plugging in a turntable. The Zone 2 output gives you the option of adding a second pair of speakers in another room.

MusicCast for music all around your home

The Yamaha RX-V6A is part of Yamaha's hugely impressive network audio system, MusicCast. With MusicCast you control all your compatible Yamaha MusicCast products via your smartphone or even Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant by voice*. Play the same music on all the components or split the sound into different zones for different moods in each room; the choice is yours. Stream the best music services

Compatible with Amazon Music, Spotify Premium, Pandora, Napster, Tidal, Deezer and Qobuz, the RXV6A is fully equipped for your favourite music streaming service. With Tidal and Qobuz already offering higher resolution playback, it’s now possible to find a streaming service that at least matches the quality of CD and, in some cases, even improves upon it.

Advanced networking including Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth

As well as MusicCast, the RX-V6A is also compatible with Apple AirPlay 2, letting you stream music from your Apple iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or other compatible Apple device, wirelessly, around your home. Just ask Siri where you want the music to play. For a quick and easy connection with your smartphone, use the Bluetooth connection for easy music streaming.
