Finding the perfect TV

So which model suits your needs? Well, sports fans should go for a Plasma or an LCD/LED model with a high refresh rate to help reduce blur. Refresh rates are measured in Hertz (Hz) and tell you how many frames are shown per second. For everyday use for those on a budget we'd suggest an LCD model, for picture quality and a reasonable price tag. Recently launched 3D Televisions are the latest on offer. Active 3D was the first to be offered where active shutter glasses are required which very quickly show each eye alternate images from two angles and thus creating the 3D effect. Passive 3D is the latest technology where the glasses contain no active components, just a method of filtering a single image in to two channels (providing a stereo image). This means the glasses are much cheaper than active 3D Glasses.

Don't forget when connecting your DVD or Bluray player or Home Cinema system that the images and sounds output are only as good as the cables you are using. Free cables supplied with your TV or component are often cheap and low quality and produce shallow audio.
